Aim of the course

A full day course teaching you techniques for ensuring your letters are clear, concise, convey the intended meaning and create a professional impression.


Course content

Throughout this course participants will actually practise the techniques discussed in order that they have mastered these when they leave.

The course looks at 3 areas, writing with clarity, ensuring the content is technically correct, writing in the style that is most appropriate for your firm and your clients.

Clear words / avoiding jargon
A very fast technique for drafting / editing letters

Quality
Grammar – common errors
Apostrophes - the 4 situations you need to know
Tabulation - 2 types
Using colons and semi-colons correctly

Style
Special techniques for dealing with complaints
Active and Passive expressions to create the appropriate tone
Mentioning ‘Benefits’ or ‘Features’ of your organisation
Writing all letters so as to create a positive impression

In addition to course notes delegates will receive a "wallchart" checklist to remind them of the key points.
